AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CURFEW FOR PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 16,
AMENDING ORDINANCES NUMBERS 315 AND 58, AND SECTION 9.08.010 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF JACKSONVILLE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE ].T ORDAi.NE'D BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: Ordinances numbers 315 and 58 and Section 9.08.010
of the Municipal Code of Jacksonville are amended to read as follows:

It is unlawful for any person or persons under the age of ].6
to Loiter, collect or appear in any public place in the city between
the hours of one a.m. and six a.m. unless suchpersnn or persons is
accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult person responsible
for or having legal, custody of such minor person or persons; or such
minor's gainful employment makes it necessary for such minor to be
upon said streets, alleys or other public places after the specified
hours; or on an emergency errand sanctioned by the parent, guardian
or other adult person responsible for or having legal custody of the
said minor; or on some other specific, important, legitimate purpose.
The fact that said minor, unaccompanied by parent, guardian
or other adult person responsible for or having the legal. custody
of the said minor is found upon any street, alley or other public

place after the specified hours, shall be prima facie evidence that
the minor is there unlawfully and that no reasonable excuse exists
therefor.
Such persons violating the provisions of this Ordinance, upon
conviction thereof, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall
be fined not less than fifteen ($15.00) dollars nor more than one
hundred ($100.00) dollars.
SECTION 2: All ordinances and codes conflicting with this
ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
