BE IT ORD.AINE~D AND EN.ACTED BY 'rHE CI'rY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF J1\.CKSONVILLE. ARKANS.A.S: 1. PARKING: No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a roadway or street other than parrallel with the edge of the street or roadway, headed in the direction of traffic, and with the curb- side wheels of the vehicle within 12 i.nC!18S of the edge or curb of such street or roadway.. ex- cept (a), upon those streets which have been marked by appropriate sign or marker permittin~ angle parking, vehicles shall be parked at the angle to the curb or edge of street indicated by such mark or signs, and (b), in places where at times when stopping for the purpose of loading or unloading materials or merchandise is permitted, vehicles used for the transportation thereof may ba.ck into the curb for such purposes only ene' then only for the period of time actually' necessary to accomplish such purpose. 2. NO PARKING: Wben signs or markers have been erected or pla.cet so directing, no person shall pa.rk or permit a vehicle to stand in any area or district ,1\fhere such signs or markers indicate that parking is prohibited therein. 3- ALLEYS: No person shall park or stand a vehicle in any alley at any time, exoept for the purpose of loading or unloading; materials or merc11an~ise, and then only for the actual time necessary to accomplish such purpose- Whenever any vehicle is so parked or permitted to stand, sufficient clearance room shall be perlnitted for the passage of other vehicles. 4. PENALTY: An'j' person, firm, or corporation "w-hich violates the provisions of any of the foregoing sections shall upon. conviction, be fined not less than Five ( .00) Dollars, and not more than Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars, for each separate offense- 5- If, for any reason any portion of this.ordinance be held to. be invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affeot the reinaining portions thereof which are valid, but such valid portions sha.ll be and remain in full force and effect. 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
