an ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR trHE INSPECTIOI~' OF BUILDINGS AND PREMISES BY THE CHIEF OF THE FIRE
DEP,ARTMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF tJACm ONVILI.JE, ARKANSAS:
~. Any person, persons or corporations owning or in control of any property or building in the
City who shall, through negleot or in any. other nlanner, allow said property or bui.ldings i11- the
opinion of the Chief of the Fire Department. to fall into decay or become unfit for habitation,
shall be prosecuted by the Chief of the Fire Depar~ment under advice of the City Attorney for
maintaining a nuisance. Where the buildings and property. are in a fair state of repair and
unoccupied, the person or persons owning or in control of said property or building shall securely
fasten all openings and board up all broken windows or doors to the satisfaction of the Chief of the
Fire Department.
2. Any person, firm or corper atioTl violati.ng the provisions of this ordina.nce shall be gu il ty of' c~

a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not less than Fh<j ($5.00) Dollars nor b~ Orct..

All ordinances or pa.rts of ordina.nces in conflict herem th are hereby repealed.
4. And this ordinance being necessar:r for the immediate preservation of the public pea.ce J heal th
and safety, a.n emergency is h~reby declared to exist and the same shall be in full force a.nd effect
immediately' after its passage.
