RESOLUTION NO. 662 ( #08 - 2011)
A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND SUPPORTING COACH
LARRY BURROWS AND THE2011 STATE CHAMPION (6A) BASEBALL
TEAM OF JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL; AND, FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Coach Larry Burrows, together with Assistant Coaches Jeremiah
Clennon and Barry Hickingbotham, and JHS Athletic Director Jerry Wilson, utilized the
Baseball Program to implement genuine character and integrity and forever impact the
lives of young Jacksonville residents by recently leading them to the State Championship
in the 2011 Arkansas Baseball Championship Tournament (6A).

NOW, THEREFORE, BEITRESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFF CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
I SECTION ONE: Coach Burrows is to be applauded for his hard work,
dedication, and efforts to implement athleticism, character, and skills to this
C hampionship Team. As a result, Coaches Burrows, Clennon, and Hickingbotham,
together with A. D. Wilson, led these young men to the 2011 Arkansas Baseball
Championship (6A). Members of the 2011 JHS Championship Baseball Team should be
proud of their accomplishments this Season and the impact their efforts will have on both
their short term and long term life goals. Championship team members are: Jacob
Abrahamson; Xavier Brown; Tanner Burks; Patrick Castleberry; Tyler Crook; Kenny
Cummings; 6A Tournament MVP Jesse Harbin; Mike Lamb; Jake Lovercheck; D'Vone
McClure; Landon Nolen; Logan Perry; Nick Rodriguez; Noah Sanders; Alex Tucker; Team
Manager Dominique Wyatt; and, Athletic Trainer Jason Cates.
SECTION TWO: The Jacksonville City Council encourages other area
educators to model Coach Burrows' winning baseball program and apply the same
dedication, efforts, and commitment to their educational pursuits in the training and
development of all champion students in the City of Jacksonville. Doing so can and will
provide champion students winning character and integrity, leading them throughout and
beyond their educational years into their adult lives.
