• TO CENTER STREET, JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS); AND, FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville City Council hosted a Public Hearing regarding the
closure for public transportation purposes over Three Hundred Feet (300') of Short Street
on January 15, 2015, with notice duly published as required by law. At said Public Hearing,
written notice had also been forwarded to all adjacent property owners and utilities
companies regarding the closure for public transportation purposes of said described area,
subject to reservation of public easement rights and public and private utilities.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION
RAANSAS.-
SECT70N ONE.- The real property, more particularly described as follows is:
Beginning at the NE corner of Lot 1, Block 24 of the Original Town of
Jacksonville; thence Southwest, 300 feet to the East Right of Way line of
Arkansas Highway 161; thence Southeast perpendicular to the Southeast line
of said Block 24, 50 feet to the Northwest Right of Way line of Union Pacific
Rail Road; thence Northeast along said Rail Road Right of Way, 300 feet to
the Southwest Right of Way line of Center Street; thence Northwest, along
the Center Street Right of Way line, 50 feet to the Point of Beginning,
containing .34 acres more or less.
(General Location: THAT PORTION OF SHORT STREET FROM NORTH FIRST
STREET TO CENTER STREET, JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS)
Said Street Right of Way is hereby closed and vacated under the powers granted to Cities
of the First Class in the State of Arkansas, with reservation of said described property for
public purposes other than public transportation Rights of Way and to reserve easement
rights and privileges for private and public utility companies. The Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby duly authorized and directed to execute all necessary documentation to accomplish
such and make public record of the change in nature of said real property as described
above. Said documentation shall close said public transportation Right of Way, and said
real property shall be converted to a public purpose so that Parks & Recreation can utilize
said property for public park purposes and as otherwise needed.

SECTION TWO: A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk,
shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of the County and recorded in the Deed Records
of the County, hereby amending the plat recorded on November 1, 1920, in the Pulaski
County Circuit Clerk Records.
SECTION THREE: All Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage and publication, as provided by and subject to the requirements of applicable law.
