ORDINANCE NO.

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR THE CITY
ATTORNEY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: In accordance with Act 370 of 1983 of the 74th
General Assembly of the state of Arkansas, the City of
Jacksonville, being a city of the first class does hereby
provide for retirement benefits established by said Act 370
of 1983 for its elected city attorney.
SECTION 2: As provided by state law, any city attorney
eligible under Act 370 of 1983 and this ordinance, who shall
have served as city attorney for a period of not less than
twenty (20) years, shall be entitled to retire at an annual
retirement benefit during the remainder of his natural life,
payable at the rate of one-half (~) of the salary payable to
such city attorney at the time of his retirement.
SECTION 3: All payments of retirement benefits under this
ordinance shall be payable monthly and shall be paid from the
general funds of the City.
SECTION 4: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent
of such conflict.
