A RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORITY AND EXPRESSING SUPPORT
FOR THE CREATION OF A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE AGFC FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF AN AYSSP STORAGE FACILITY AT THE
ARKANSAS STATE GAME & FISH FOUNDATION SHOOTING SPORTS
COMPLEX; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, after less than a year of operation, Jacksonville has
witnessed success of the AGFF Shooting Sports Complex, where thousands
of youth and adult shooting sports enthusiasts have visited our community to
participate in Complex activities, tournaments, and special events; and,
WHEREAS, because of the success of the Complex, AGFC, sponsors
of AYSSP activities, has secured funds to construct a storage facility on the
Shooting Range Complex premises to allow AGFC/AYSSP greater access
and ease in sponsoring and hosting AYSSP activities at the Complex. To do
so, a portion of the property will need to be leased to the AGFC to allow
construction of the storage facility and a Lease Agreement approved
between the parties. As such, the City Council must authorize Mayor
Fletcher and City Clerk Davitt to execute a Lease Agreement on the portion
of the Complex property which will contain the AYSSP Storage Facility,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT.
SECTION ONE: The City Council expresses its appreciation to
AGFC for its continued support and willingness to support the activities at the
AGFF Shooting Range Complex. Authority is hereby granted to Mayor
Fletcher and City Clerk Davitt to execute a Lease Agreement, as drafted and
approved by the City Attorney, to secure a lease for the development,
construction, and maintenance of an AYSSP Storage Facility by AGFC.
SECTION TWO: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in
effect from and after its date of passage.
