AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING IN
REGARD TO CONTRACTING FOR THE PURCHASE OF COMPUTER EQUIPMENT
FOR THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, CITY OF JACKSONVILLE; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Arkansas Statutes Annotated
Section 19-4425, we hereby waive the requirements of compe-
titive bidding in regard to the purchase of computer equip-
ment.
SECTION 2. We hereby state that the requirements of
competitive bidding in this instance would not be feasible or
practical in that this equipment must be compatible with
existing Wang equipment at City HaIl. That the distributor
for this equipment in this area is City Business Machines.
They have submitted quotes and under these circumstances com-
petitive bidding would be fruitless and nonproductive and
costly to the City.
SECTION 3. We hereby authorize the City of Jacksonville's
Engineering Department to contract with City Business Machines
of Little Rock, Arkansas, pursuant to the terms as set out in
the attached QUOTATION dated 8/30/83 with total
expenditures of $4,960.00.
SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of 'any such
conflict.
