RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL
SERVICES CONTRACT WITH MANES & ASSOCIATES,
INC. FOR PREPARATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM DISCRETIONARY GRANT APPLICATION.

WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas is desirous of
undertaking a sanitary sewer improvement program with a Federal
Grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development under
the Discretionary Fund provisions of the Community Development
Program, and
WHEREAS on the basis of its review of the City's Pre- Applica-
tion for said funds, the Department of Housing and Urban Develop-
ment has invited the City of Jacksonville to prepare and submit a
full and complete Application including all plans, budgets, pro-

grams, and certifications as required in various HUD regulations
and
WHEREAS it is necessary and desirable for the City to retain
the professional and technical services of a consultant to assist •
in preparing said Application; and
WHEREAS the City Council desires to retain the services of
Manes & Associates, Inc. on the basis of past performance, qualifi-
cations, and experience.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
1, That the Mayor and the City Clerk be and are hereby
authorized to enter into a contract with Manes F, Associates,
Inc. for the preparation of a Discretionary Fund Grant Application
under the Community Development Program.
2. That the amount of compensation under said agreement shall
not exceed $3,200.
3. That it is acknowledged that the City has received
from HUD a letter to proceed which will allow the City to re-
imburse itself from the Discretionary Grant the cost of preparing
the full application authorized herein.
4. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.
