RESOLUTION N0. 460.( #2 -93)
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING PARTICIPATION IN THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS
REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION STUDY; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a continuing, comprehensive, and cooperative
transportation planning process is critical to the future
development of and quality of life for the Little Rock /
North Little Rock Metropolitan Area; and,
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of Metroplan, the
designated metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the
Little Rock / North Little Rock Metropolitan Area, to provide
a forum in which said planning process can be accomplished;
and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Jacksonville to
participate in this process through involvement and execution
of the Central Arkansas Regional Transportation Study Agree-
ment. A copy of said Agreement is attached hereto and made a
part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of
Jacksonville duly adopts and hereby authorizes the Mayor and
City Clerk to approve the attached Agreement of Understanding
indicating the City of Jacksonville's intent to participate
in the Central Arkansas Regional Transportation Study.
SECTION TWO: This Resolution shall be in effect from
and after its date of passage.
SECTION THREE: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of
said conflict.
