0627 000021 RESOLUTION NO. 627 ( #6 - 2009) A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE TO UTILIZE FEDERAL AID MONIES FOR ITS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, through its Parks and Recreation Department, applied for funding through the Arkansas Recreational Trails Program to improve the Dupree Park Pedestrian Trail; WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville understands that Federal Aid Funds are available for this project on a reimbursable basis, requiring work to be accomplished and proof o f payme nt prior to actual federal reimbursement. As such, the City is willing and able to accomplish the necessary expenditures, the work required, and to commit to providing the required Twenty Percent (20 %) match of the total project costs; WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville understands that there will be no reimbursement for improvements accomplished prior to the issuance by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department of an official Notice of Proceed; and, WHEREAS, this project, utilizing federal funding, will be open and available for use by the general public and maintained by Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION ONE: The City of Jacksonville will participate in the Arkansas Recreational Trails Program in accordance with its designated obligations and responsibilities, including ongoing maintenance of this project. SECTION TWO: The City Mayor and Ci Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to Y Y execute all appropriate agreements and documents necessary to expedite improvements to the Dupree Park Pedestrian Trail. SECTION THREE: The City Council pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the appropriate City of Jacksonville officials and employees to initiate action to implement and complete this project. SECTION FOUR: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
