RESOLUTION NO, 626 ( #5 - 2009)
A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND SUPPORTING COACH
RAYMOND COOPER AND THE 2009 STATE CHAMPION FIRST
RUNNER UP (5A) BASKETBALL TEAM PROGRAM OF NORTH PULASKI
HIGH SCHOOL; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES,
WHEREAS, Coach Raymond Cooper, Head Basketball Coach of North Pulaski High
School, worked diligently this year to lead his team of able young men to First Runner Up
in the 2009 Arkansas State Basketball Championships (5A), coming within five (5) points
of winning the State Basketball Championship (5A) against Greene County Tech; and,
WHEREAS, this team of young men have worked hard all season and are worthy of
the title of champions under the leadership of Coach Cooper. Athleticism brings about
genuine character and integrity, and our community is proud of Coach Cooper and these
Seventeen (17) young men for their efforts all season, but particularly during their
participation in the 2009 Arkansas Basketball Championship (5A) game this past weekend.
NOW, THEREFORE, BEITRESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF7ACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: Coach Raymond Cooper is congratulated for his hard
work, dedication, and efforts in leading and developing a team of winners during the
2008 -2009 Basketball Season at North Pulaski High School. Coach Cooper and his team
of Champions, with dedication, hard work, athleticism, and skill, are applauded for their
success as First Runner Ups during the 2009 Arkansas Basketball Championship (5A).
Members of the North Pulaski High School's 2009 Arkansas' First Runner Up
Championship Basketball Team include: Joe Agee; Bradley Bohannon; Daquan Bryant;
Isiah Carter; Carlos Donley; Aaron Cooper; Brian Coulson; Troy Green; Breylon
Henderson; Christian Knight; Ken Seward; Kyron Ware; Darius Washington; Shyheim
Barron; Arlando Hicks; Jerald Blair; and, Shylia Jefferson.
SECTION TWO: The Jacksonville City Council congratulates Coach Cooper
and the members of his Championship Team and hopes that their success on the
basketball court will have similar effect on all other aspects of these young men's lives.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in effect from and after its date
of passage.
