RESOLUTION NO. 619 ( #12 - 2008)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO NEGOTIATE
AND EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN EFFORTS TO SECURE LONG
TERM LEASE FOR THE OPERATION OF NORTH METRO MEDICAL CENTER;
AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, is desirous of obtaining a long term lease
for the continued operation on our City -owned medical facility, North Metro Medical Center, to
continue meeting the medical needs and requirements of local residents and citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the importance of satisfying community medical
needs and providing quality health care in an economic environment that provides too little
reimbursement from medical insurance providers and governmental benefits. As such, the
Mayor and City Clerk should be authorized to locate and find an appropriate medical facility
operations group and negotiate an appropriate agreement at favorable terms to provide a
qualified successor in interest to the continued operation of our Cityowned medical facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: To satisfy the needs of local citizens and residents within the
Jacksonville and North Pulaski County area, the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to search, locate, and negotiate with a qualified medical facility operations group and to
execute all appropriate agreements and documents necessary to obtain and secure a long term
lease for the continued operation and provision of quality medical services within the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas.
SECTION TWO: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in effect from and after its date
of passage.
