0720RESOLUTION NO. 720 (#15- 2014)
A RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORITY AND EXPRESSING SUPPORT
FOR THE CREATION OF A RECREATIONAL VEHICLE CAMPING
FACILITY AT THE ARKANSAS STATE GAME & FISH FOUNDATION
SHOOTING SPORTS COMPLEX, AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, after less than a year of operation, Jacksonville has
witnessed success of the AGFF Shooting Sports Complex, where thousands
of youth and adult shooting sport enthusiasts have visited our community to
participate in Complex activities, tournaments, and special events; and,
WHEREAS, the Complex will enjoy more success if Camping facilities
are included, and the City has secured a Shooting Enthusiast who is willing
to construct the First Phase of said needed improvements under a
Lease/Option Agreement. As such, the Council must authorize Mayor
Fletcher and City Clerk Davitt to execute a short term lease on the portion of
the Complex property which will contain the Camping facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT.-
SECTION
HAT:
SECTION ONE: The City Council expresses its appreciation to
Chuck Sharp of Sharp Properties for his willingness to support development
of the First Phase of Camping facilities on the AGFF Shooting Range
Complex. Authority is hereby granted to Mayor Fletcher and City Clerk Davitt
to execute a Lease Agreement, as drafted and approved by the City
Attorney, to accomplish construction of said Camping facilities.
SECTION TWO: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith
