RESOLUTION NO, 590 ( #3 - 06)
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING SUPPORT OF THE PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY INTO THE CITY LIMITS OF
JACKSONVILLE (COMMONLY KNOWN AS LOST CREEK ESTATES); AND,
FOR OTHER PURPOSES,
WHEREAS, NewLand Development LLC, owner of certain real property
bordering part of the West boundary of the City limits of Jacksonville, is desirous
of having its real property annexed into the city limits of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, is the adjoining and
surrounding duly organized municipality with Pulaski County to said property;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and NewLand Development,
LLC, are in agreement that annexation of the property more particularly
described below would be advantageous and beneficial to all parties concerned.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The City Council urges support and approval of the
proposed annexation of the real property partially bordering Jacksonville's West
city limits, as more particularly described below and as reflected on the attached
map (identified as Attachment "A" and made a part hereof).
SECTION TWO: The following real property, commonly known as Lost
Creek Estate and as more particularly described below, shall be annexed and
accepted into the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas:
Part of the NE 1/4 of Section 22, T -3 -N, R -11 -W, Pulaski County,
Arkansas, commencing at the NW corner of the NE 1/4 of said
Section 22 (also Little Rock Air Force Base Boundary Monument
#31), thence S 88 25' 00" E along the North line of Section 22,
990 feet to the point of beginning; thence S 88° 25' 00" E, 1,650
feet to the Northeast corner of Section 22, thence S 00' 42' 41" W,
1,278.52 feet to the North right -of -way line of General Samuels
Road; thence along said right -of -way N 88° 28' 32" W 1,650 feet to
an iron pipe; thence N 00 42' 54" E, 1,280.22 feet to the boundary
line of the Little Rock Air Force Base and to the point of beginning,
containing 48.46 acres more or less.
SECTION THREE: The Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney are hereby
authorized to prepare, execute, and file the appropriate documents required to
express support for and work toward completion of said annexation.
SECTION FOUR: Upon approval of said annexation by the Pulaski
County Judge, F. G. (Buddy) Villines, the City Council hereby agrees to authorize,
accept, and approve the annexation of the above- described property into the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas..

SECTION FIVE: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in effect
from and after its date of passage.
