RESOLUTION NO. 580 ( #1 - 05)
A RESOLUTION URGING SUPPORT OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY BORDERING THE SOUTHEAST BOUNDARIES OF THE
CITY LIMITS OF JACKSONVILLE (COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE SOUTHEAST
ANNEXATION); AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, certain residents of real property on the Southeast side of Jacksonville
desire that their real properties be annexed into the city limits of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas;
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, is the adjoining and surrounding duly
organized municipality within Pulaski County to said properties; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and a majority of certain real estate
owners of the Southeast side of Jacksonville are in agreement that annexation of certain
property located on the Southeast side of Jacksonville, as more particularly described
below, would be advantageous and beneficial to all parties concerned.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The City Council wholeheartedly urges support and approval
of the proposed annexation of the real property located on the Southeast side of
Jacksonville, as shown on the attached map (identified as Attachment "A" and made a
part hereof).
SECTION TWO: The following real property, as more particularly described
below and as shown on the attached map, shall be annexed and accepted by the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas:
SOUTHEAST PROPERTY
TRACT A - Pulaski County Special School District (Murrell Taylor Elementary School)
Parcel No. 12R- 028 -00- 070-00
Part of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 28, Township 3 North, Range
10 West; beginning at the NW corner of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of said
Section; thence S 89° E 673.45'; thence S 1° W, 643.17'; thence S 89° W,
673.59'; thence N 1 E, 650.61' to the point of beginning containing 10
acres more or less.
TRACT B - Jacob M. and Leanna Rich
Parcel No. 12R- 028 -00- 067 -00
Part of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 28, Township 3 North, Range
10 West, beginning 444.75' East and 48.6' North of the Southwest corner
of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of said Section 28; thence North 200' thence
East 96' thence South 200'; thence West 96' to the point of beginning,
containing 0.44 acres more or less.

of State Highway 294 and the point of beginning; thence continuing S 00°
48' 46" W, 265.00 feet; thence N 89° 11' 14" W, 328.75 feet; thence N 00°

line of State Highway 294 and the point of beginning; thence continuing S
00° 48' 46" W, 350.00 feet; thence N 89° 11' 14" W, 273.81 feet; thence
N 00° 48' 46" E, 350.00 feet to said South right -of -way line 273.81 feet to
the point of beginning, containing 2.2 acres, more or less.
SECTION THREE: The Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney are hereby authorized
to prepare, execute, and file the appropriate documents required to complete said
annexation process.
SECTION FOUR: Upon approval of said annexation by the Pulaski County
Judge, F. G. (Buddy) Villines, the City Council hereby agrees to authorize, accept, and
approve the annexation of the above described property by the City of Jacksonville.

SECTION FIVE: Any and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
SECTION SIX: This Resolution shall have full force and effect immediately after
its passage.
