0561 RESOLUTION NO. 561 ( #6 - 02)
A RESOLUTION URGING SUPPORT OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY KNOWN AS OAK RIDGE ESTATES INTO THE CITY
LIMITS OF JACKSONVILLE (COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE OAK RIDGE ESTATES
ANNEXATION); AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, certain residents of real property in Oak Ridge Estates, Jacksonville,
Arkansas, desire that their real properties be annexed into the city limits of the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas;
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, is the adjoining and surrounding duly
organized municipality within Pulaski County to said properties; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and one hundred percent (100 %)
of certain real estate owners of Oak Ridge Estates are in agreement that annexation of
the real property described below, located on the northwest side of Jacksonville, would
be advantageous and beneficial to all parties concerned.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The City Council wholeheartedly urges support and approval
of the proposed annexation of the real property known as Oak Ridge Estates, as shown
on the attached map (identified as Attachment "A" and made a part hereof).
SECTION TWO: The following real property, as more particularly described
below and as shown on the attached map, shall be annexed and accepted by the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas:
OAK RIDGE ESTATES
Part of the SW 1/4 of Section 5, T -3 -N, R -10 -W, of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the center of Section 5, T -3 -N, R -10 -W; thence S 1° 56' 05"
W, 1369.10 feet; thence N 83° 23' 23" W, 434.50 feet; thence S 1° 59' 45"
W, 663.73 feet; thence N 62° 07' 51" W, 1165.97 feet to the centerline of
the access road Oak Ridge Drive; thence S 27° 52' 17" W, 657.32 feet along
the said centerline to the most southerly R/W of Maddox Road and the Little
Rock Air Force Base boundary and the current City limits of Jacksonville,
Arkansas; thence N 62° 07' 51" W, 361.34 feet along the boundary of Little
Rock Air Force Base and the City limits of Jacksonville, Arkansas; thence N
27° 52' 17" E, 657.32 feet; thence N 62° 07' 51" W, 512.95 feet; thence N
56° 27' 05" E, 14.46 feet; thence N 45° 49' 50" E, 231.70 feet; thence N
80° 48' 21" E, 90.65 feet; thence N 31° 46' 33" E, 149.99 feet; thence N
37° 51' 58" E, 62.25 feet; thence N 3° 54' 47" E, 570.67 feet to the
centerline of Pridmore Lane; thence N 86° 47' 40" E, 568.80 feet along the
centerline of Pridmore Lane; thence N 87° 06' 50" E, 1314.46 feet to the
point of beginning, containing 73.03 acres more or less.

SECTION THREE: The Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney are hereby
authorized to prepare, execute, and file the appropriate documents required to complete
said annexation process, including providing any testimony required before the County
Court in the annexation hearing set for May 9, 2002, at 9:00 a.m.
SECTION FOUR: Upon approval of said annexation by the Pulaski County
Judge, F. G. (Buddy) Villines, the City Council hereby agrees to authorize, accept, and
approve the annexation of the above described property by the City of Jacksonville.
SECTION FIVE: Any and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
SECTION SIX: This Resolution shall have full force and effect immediately
after its passage.
