A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF VACATING
AND CLOSING PURITAN DRIVE AND A PORTION OF PARRISH STREET, JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS (GENERAL LOCATION: CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PURITAN DRIVE AND
PARRISH STREET LYING IMMEDIATELY EAST OF BAILEY BOULEVARD); AND, FOR
OTHER PURPOSES,
WHEREAS, Puritan Drive and that portion of Parrish Street lying Seventy -five Feet (75') East
of Bailey Boulevard have never been used by the general public as streets or alleys; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council and Planning Commission wish to obtain public input as to the
closures of Puritan Drive and that certain portion of Parrish Street lying immediately East of Bailey
Boulevard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE,ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: A public hearing be held on Thursday, January 7, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. or
as soon thereafter as possible, to address the issue of closing and vacating Puritan Drive and
Parrish Street (those portions lying immediately East of Bailey Boulevard). Said public hearing shall
be held during the regular City Council Meeting in the Council Chambers of the Jacksonville City
Hall, #1 Municipal Drive, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
SECTION TWO: The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said Public Hearing
in a newspaper having general circulation within the City of Jacksonville a minimum of two (2) times
with the first publication being no later than fifteen (15) days before said Public Hearing.
SECTION THREE: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of said conflict.
