0441 RESOLUTION NO. 441 (#9-91)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION THROUGH THE ARKANSAS
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND TOURISM TO THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
FOR ASSISTANCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
FOR THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, wishes to
•
improve its recreation facilities and desires to have federal
assistance in doing so; and,
WHEREAS, in order to obtain funds necessary to develop
and/or improve potential sites for such recreation improve-
ments, it is necessary to obtain a grant from the appropriate
agency of the United States Government; and,
WHEREAS, plans for such recreation areas have been
prepared and prices have been established; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, is well aware and apprised of the above mentioned
project, and agrees that the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,
will provide the appropriate share of the development costs
for the entire project and states said recreation areas shall
be dedicated and maintained perpetually as recreation faci-
lities;

• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, or
other persons acting by or under his direction, are hereby

• authorized to make application through the Arkansas Depart-
.
ment of Parks and Tourism to the National Park Service,
United States Department of the Interior, for assistance to
develop recreational facilities for the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, with such application to be submitted as expedi-
tiously as possible.

• SECTION TWO: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in
• conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in effect from
and after its date of passage.
