A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS,
IN PARTICULAR THE PURCHASING AGENT, TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE
OF ARKANSAS' PURCHASING PROGRAM FOR THE PURCHASE OF SUPPLIES,
MATERIALS, SERVICES, AND EQUIPMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas' State Purchasing Law (A.C.A 1987
519 -11 - 201) was signed into law by Governor Bill Clinton on
March 21, 1979; and,
WHEREAS, effective July 1, 1979, Arkansas' State
Purchasing Law provides the opportunity for counties, cities,
towns, or school districts to participate in contracts of the
State of Arkansas, Department of Finance and Administration,
Office of State Purchasing, for the purchase of supplies,
services, equipment, and certain materials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The Purchasing Agent of the City of
Jacksonville is hereby given authority in the name of the
City of Jacksonville to participate in state contracts which
the Department of Finance and Administration, Office of State
Purchasing, has entered into for the purchase of supplies,
services, equipment, and certain material pursuant to the
State Purchasing Law and Amendment 54 to the Arkansas Consti-
tution.
SECTION TWO: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized
to agree in the name of the City of Jacksonville to be bound
by all contract terms and conditions as the Department of
Finance and Administration, Office of State Purchasing, pre-
scribes. Such terms and conditions may include a reasonable
fee to cover the administrative costs which the Department
of Finance and Administration incurs as a result of the City
of Jacksonville's participation in a particular contract.
SECTION THREE: The Purchasing Agent is further autho-
rized to agree in the name of the City of Jacksonville to
directly pay the vendor, under such state contract in which
it participates, for items it receives pursuant to said
contracts.
SECTION FOUR: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed td the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION FIVE: This Resolution shall be in effect from
and after its date of passage.
