RESOLUTION NO. 44 0 0 ( #9 -88)
A RESOLUTION ENTERING THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, INTO THE
1989 ARKANSAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AWARD PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, local municipal government has a prime respon-
sibility to develop the capacity to undertake a viable economic
development effort; and,
WHEREAS, community economic development needs and problems
can best be determined and solved through a co- operative effort
between elected officials and those citizens they represent; and,
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Community Development Program,
administered by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce has been
reviewed and found to be a means to improve our community; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the City of Jacksonville
do herewith pledge their full support, endorsement, and coopera-
tion in carrying out the requirements of the Arkansas Community
Development Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The City Council of the City of Jacksonville
urges its citizens to join this effort and hereby declares this
City to be an official entrant in the Arkansas Community Develop-
ment Program for the year of 1989.
SECTION TWO: All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in effect from
and after its date of passage.
