A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE JACKSONVILLE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL
TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
WHEREAS, a city is judged in many different ways, including how
we present ourselves while at home and in other communities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville has an outstanding group of
young people in our community; and
WHEREAS, an excellent example is the American Legion Baseball
Team who has made our City proud by earning another State Champion-
ship; and
WHEREAS, while earning a State Championship is truly a great
accomplishment, the most impressive factor is the way these young
men and their coaches have represented this City all over the State
of Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, these same young men are now representing us in
National competition, and whether they win or lose, we will gain
great respect for our community because of the attitude, friendli-
ness, maturity, and sportsmanship they display both on and off the
field.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: We hereby commend and express our appreciation to
these young men for their efforts and accomplishments on and off the
field.
SECTION TWO: We also commend the coaches for their leadership;
without leadership, the best efforts alone could not have brought
these excellent results.
SECTION THREE: We deeply appreciate the positive recognition
you have brought to the City of Jacksonville.
