RESOLUTION NO. 3 9 0 ( #13 -87) '
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH METROPLAN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION,
INSTALLATION, AND OPERATION OF AN ENHANCED 9 -1 -1 EMERGENCY
TELEPHONE SYSTEM IN PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the political entities of Pulaski County have,
pursuant to Act 683 of 1985, taken the necessary action to
establish an enhanced 9 -1 -1 emergency telephone system in Pulaski
County for use by all political entities within the County; and,
WHEREAS, the political entities desire for Metroplan to
receive, accumulate, and disburse the surcharges collected to
support said emergency telephone system to alleviate duplication
in administrative and operation costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor of the City of Jacksonville is
hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Metroplan for
the collection and disbursement of funds in connection with the
construction, installation, and operation of the enhanced 9 -1 -1
emergency telephone system in Pulaski County, Arkansas.
SECTION TWO: That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said
conflict.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in effect from and
after its date of passage.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS SEVENTEENTH DAY OF DECEMBER,
1987.
