ORDINANCE NO.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NUMBER 566, 626, 660, 691, 730,
762..AND 808, FIXING AND IMPOSING THE AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF FEES,
CHARGES AND SPECIAL TAXES TO BE PAID THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, BY THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY AND THE
METHOD OF PAYMENT THEREOF; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. It is hereby declared that Ordinances Number
566, 626, 660, 691, 730, 762, and 808 should be amended as set
forth below.
SECTION 2. Section 2 of said Ordinance Number 566, 626,
660, 691, 730, 762, and 808 are hereby amended to read as follows:
"For the year of 1987, the Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company shall pay the sum of Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00)."
In all other respects, said Ordinances shall remain unchanged.
Payments shall continue in succeeding years unless otherwise
modified.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4. It is hereby found by the Jacksonville City
Council that there is an urgent need for additional revenues for
the City. Therefore, an emergency is declared to exist, and this
Ordinance being necessary for the preservation and advancement of
the public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
