ORDINANCE NO. 895 (#19-88)
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPE~IiIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PURCHASING A BOX CULVER~ FOR ~HE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to purchase a ten
foot (10') by six foot (6') precast concrete box culvert, forty-
eight feet (48') long; and,
WHEREAS, there is only one (1) supplier of box culverts in
the State of Arkansas; and,
WHEREAS, Dalworth Quick-Set of Benton, Arkansas, is the
only place in Arkansas to purchase a box culvert;
NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CIiY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SEC~ION ONE: Competitive bidding for the purpose of
purchasIng a te-n---'foot (10') by six foot (6') box culvert, forty-
eight feet (48') long, would be costly and non-productive, making
said competitive bidding unfeasible and impractical.
SEC~ION TWO: Competitive bidding is hereby waived, pursuant
to Ar kansas Code ---of 1987 Anno ta ted S 14- 58- 383, for the purpose 0 f
purchasing a ten foot (10') by six foot (6') precast concrete box
culvert, forty-eight feet (48') long, and authorization is given
to the City Engineer to enter into a contract with Dalworth
Quick-Set of Benton, Arkansas, to provide said culvert at a price
of Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred Thirty-five and 72/100 Dollars
($8,935.72), including tax.
SECTION ~HREE: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force fi~~ a~d after its passage.
