AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 129 CODIFIED AS JACKSONVILLE
MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 5.12.130, REGARDING THE LIST OF BAIL
BONDSMEN MAINTAINED AT THE JACKSONVILLE CITY JAIL; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it appears that there may be a conflict between
the Arkansas State Law and the Jacksonville Municipal Ordinance
in regards to maintaining of a list of qualified bail bondsmen
at the Jacksonville Municipal Jail, it is necessary to amend the
existing Ordinance so that there will be no question as to any
possible conflict.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: Jacksonville Municipal Code Section 5.12.130
is hereby amended to read as follows:
5.12.130 List of Licensed Bondsmen - City Clerk Duty
It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause to be
typewritten or printed on the fifteenth of February
every year, a list, alphabetically arranged, of all
persons licensed under the authority of this chapter
to conduct or engage in a business of a professional
bondsmen in the City and furnish copies thereof to
the Judge and Clerk of the Municipal Court of the City
and to the Chief of police of the City. It shall be
the duty of the City Clerk to maintain sufficient
numbers of said list so that one may be made available
to any member of the police Department upon request.
If and when additional applicants are qualified,
approved and licensed during the year, such names will
be added to the list and the list will be redone in
an alphabetical order. After the original list is
prepared on February 15th of any year, the City Clerk
shall have thirty (30) days in which to prepare a
new list after a new company is qualified.
SECTION TWO: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are specifically repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
