ORDINANCE NO. 883 (#7-88)
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE JACKSONVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICE TO PROVIDE AN ADVANCE LIFE SUPPORT SERVICE AND
REQUIRING ANY TRANSFER AMBULANCE SERVICE TO PROVIDE A BACK-UP
ADVANCE LIFE SUPPORT SERVICE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is necessary in order to protect the citizens
of Jacksonville, Arkansas, to have an advance life support service
available within the City of Jacksonville.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: That the Jacksonville Fire Department
Emergency Medical Service is hereby required to provide an
advance life support service within the city limits of the City
of Jacksonville to the citizens of Jacksonville.
SECTION TWO: That any transfer ambulance service, which
operates as a transfer unit within the City of Jacksonville, is
required to provide an advance life support service as a back-up
to be used only upon the request of the Jacksonville Fire Depart-
ment Emergency Medical Service.
SECTION THREE: It being necessary to protect the public
health, safety, and welfare by providing an advance life support
service within the city limits of the City of Jacksonville, it is
hereby declared that an emergency exists and this Ordinance shall
be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage.
SECTION FOUR: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are specifically repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
