REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING - CITY HALL - #1 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE The City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas met in Regular Session on May 21, 1992 at the regular meeting place of the Council. Alderman Gary Fletcher delivered the invocation after which Mayor Swaim led the standing audience in the "Pledge of Allegiance" to the flag. ROLL CALL: Aldermen: Knight, Smith, Sansing, Wilson, Fletcher, Williamson, Keaton and Twitty were present. Alderman Lewis came in at ap- proximately 7:05 p.m., Alderman Ray came in at approximately 7:20 p.m. PRESENT, TEN (10). ABSENT, (0). Mayor Swaim also answered ROLL CALL and declared a quorum and expressed appreciation for those in attendance. Others present for the meeting were: City Attorney Robert E. Bamburg, Mayoral Assistant and Personne1 Director Michael Beeman, City Engineer Dune Reel, Fire Chief Rick Ezell, Police Chief Tate, Public Works Coordinator Skip Spears, Finance Director Paul Mushrush, Deputy City Clerk Susan Goings, other city employees, interested citizens, members of the press. PRESENTATION OF MINUTES: Mayor Swaim presented the minutes of the Regular City Council Meeting of May 7, 1992, for study and action at the next Regular City Council Meeting. APPROVAL AND/OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES: Alderman Smith moved, seconded by Alderman Sansing that the minutes of the Regular City Council Meeting of April 16, 1992 be APPROVED. MOTION CARRIED. CONSENT AGENDA: FIRE DEPARTMENT: Regular Monthly Report/April 1992 Alderman Sansing moved, seconded by Alderman Wilson that the regular monthly report for April 1992 from the Jacksonville Fire Department be APPROVED. Said report reflects an estimated fire 1oss of $32,850.00 ROLL CALL: Aldermen: Knight, Smith, Lewis, Wilson, Fletcher, Williamson, Keaton, and Twitty voted AYE. MUNICIPAL COURT (Probation Officer) Alderman Sansing moved, seconded by Alderman Wilson that the monthly report for April 1992 from Probation Officer Mike Mahone be APPROVED. Said report reflects cases for the month ending March 31, 1992 - 134, Cases added in Month of April 1992 - 5, CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 21, 1992 7:00 P.M. - 7:50 P.M. Probations completed, Month ending April 30, 1992 - 12, for TOTAL CASES AS OF APRIL 30, 1992 of 127. Number of Juveniles on Probation - 5. Alderman Keaton moved to table Ordinance 974 until a demonstra- tion could is made to the City Council regarding tie effective- ness of the equipment to be used to measure the noise level. The moion did not receive a second. Alderman Keaton then withdrew the motion to table until a demon- stration. Alderman Knight moved, seconded by Alderman Smith that the meet-ing be dismissed for ten minutes for a demonstration to be given in the parking lot at City Hall. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:04 p.m. and reconvened at approximately 7:48 p.m. ROLL CALL.
