AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILL~,z.
ARKANSAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING A TRAINED POLICE DOG FOR THe
JACKSONWLLE POLICE DEPARTMENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND, FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville Police Department is in need of an additional
trained Jolice dog for use in patrol functions and narcotic detection so as to better provide for
the public safety and welfare of t le citizens of t le City of Jac '(sonvi e; and,
W - = ~=AS, it las Jeen determined tlat a qua ity source for suc 1 canines and training
at a fair and reasona J e rate is Canine Un imited, Inc., W10 has agreed to provide said canine
and training at reasona)e rates.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:

for the purpose of purchase and training of a new canine for the Jacksonville Police
)e Jartnient. Authorization is hereby given to the Ma~or and/or his designated re Jresentative
to execute the necessary Jurchase agreements wit 1 Canine Un imited nc., Tu sa, 0 ( ahoma,
for the Jurchase of the canine, trainin~ and warranty for one (1) year for tle amount of Seven
Tlousanc =ive - undrec )0 ars ($7,'500.00), J us training expenses at a Jasic rate of =ifty
DolI~rs ($50.00) per diem through the Basic Ten Day Sc 1001, to be paid for by monies held in
tle =qulpment Fund.
S :CT ,ON THREE: All Ordinances, Jarts of Ordinances, or .Jrevious actions taken by
said Council in conflict herewith are hereby'repealed to the extent of such conflict.
