't.> 'l\.~/ \;), ORDINANCE NO. 1127 (#13-99) AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A FISCAL BUDGET FOR 2000; MAKING APPROPRIA TIONS AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES FOR OPERA TION OF VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF CITY GOVERNMENT, FOR THE PURCHASE OF MA TERIALS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT, AND SERVICES [COVERS: GENERAL FUND OPERA TIONS, STREET DEPARTMENT, AND SANITATION FUND]; AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBERS 1100,1101, AND 1102; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE: The Budget for the operation of the various departments of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, for 2000 shall be as follows: Estimated Funds Available for the General Fund for 2000: $10,947,185.00 BUDGETED DISBURSEMENTS GENERAL FUND AMOUNT 1. General Government $ 1,183,943.00 2. Public Safety 6,984,000.00 3. Judicial 361,532.00 4. Public Works 2,417,710.00 GRAND TOTAL $10,947,185.00 SECTION TWO: The Budget for operation of the Street Department of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, for 2000 shall be as follows: Estimated Funds Available for the Street Department for 2000: $1,850,268.00 Budgeted Disbursements $1,850,268.00 SECTION THREE: The budget for operation of the Sanitation Fund of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, for 2000 shall be as follows: Estimated Funds Available for the Sanitation Fund for 2000: $1,102,150.00 Budgeted Disbursements for 2000: $1,031,218.00 r ~ ri "..", AI ~ .,.. ~:'. . ~ ~.,: -~ '1".~ . . "- ~"... ;.;' Jff Ordinance No. 1127 (#13 - 99) December , 1999 Page Two SECTION FOUR: In adopting these budget expenditures and salary rates, the City Council specifically adopts the salary scale as presented by Public Sector Personnel Consultants for City employees in place of the step and grade salary scale specified in Ordinance Nos. 1100, 1101, and 1102. The City Council does so in its belief that the salary scale, as adopted, provides a more comprehensive and equitable salary plan for all City employees. SECTION FIVE: If the City Government is to operate in an economical and efficient manner, it is imperative that a Budget be adopted for the guidance and instruction of said aforementioned departments. Therefore, to promote the public welfare, health, and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after January 1, 2000. SECTION SIX: The appropriations made herein include additional pay for holidays for all agents and employees of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, including, but not limited to, uniformed employees as provided for and by the laws of the State of Arkansas. The appropriations made herein shall not include any expenditure(s) over and above the income received and monies held by the City. SECTION SEVEN: All Ordinances or parts thereof that are in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS ~l[~ DAY OF DECEMBER. 1999.
