AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS
(GENERAL LOCA TION: PROPERTY LOCA TED A T THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF HARRIS
"ROAD, JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS); AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBERS 213 AND 238 AND
THE LAND USE MAP OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE: The zone classification of the following property be and hereby is changed
as indicated below:
Property Description:
Part of the NW 1/4 of Section 23, T-3-N, R-11-W, Jacksonville, Pulaski County,
Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
Starting at the Northeast corner of the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 23, T-3-N,
R-11-W, thence S 0 degrees 49' 17" W 1000 feet along the East boundary of the
Pulaski County S )ecial School District Property to the point of beginning; thence S
o degrees 49' 17' W 123.52 feet to the Northerly R/W of Genera_ Samuels Road;
thence S 89 degrees 15' 56" W 444.06 feet along the R/W of General Samuels;
thence S 80 degrees 05' 07" W 220.17 feet along the R/W of General Samuels;
thence S 70 degrees 54' 18" W 134.95 feet along the R/W of General Samuels;
thence S 81 degrees 05' 48" W 231.90 feet to the intersection of the R/W of General
Samuels and Harris Road; thence N 4 degrees 25' 57" W 277.90 feet along the R/W
of Harris Road; thence S 88 degrees 21' 13" E 1041.21 feet along fhe south
boundary of the Pulaski County Special School District Property to the point of
beginning, containing 4.21 acres more or less.
The above described property is hereby rezoned from R-1 to R-3. (General Location: Property
located at the Northeast corner of Harris Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas).
SECTION TWO: The map referred to in Section No. 601 of Ordinance No. 213 of the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas, as amended by Ordinance No. 238, and designated as the official zoning map
and Land Use Map, should be and hereby is amended to the extent and in the respects necessary
to effect and designate the changes provided for in Section One hereof.
SECTION THREE: Because the implementation of these changes is necessary for improved
public peace and safety of the citizens of Jacksonville, an emergency is hereby declared. This
Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and publication, as provided by and subject
to the requirements of applicable law.
SECTION FOUR: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.

FIRST READING. Alderman Elliott, Ray, and Wilson voted AYE. Aldermen
Smith, Lewis, Sansing, Fletcher, Stroud, Twitty, and Howard voted NAY.
