0314 PAGE 226 RESOLUTION N 314 1 - NO. A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ARKANSAS CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION TO INSURE THAT THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS NOT ABOLISH INDUS- TRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS. WHEREAS, the residents of the City of Jacksonville have benefited greatly from the issuance of Industrial Development Revenue Bonds in the past; and WHEREAS, the continued growth and industrial development of the City of Jacksonville are dependent upon the continuance of the Industrial Development. Revenue Bonds program; and WHEREAS, there is an effort to abolish the Industrial Development Revenue Bonds; and WHEREAS, there is a definite need for new jobs in the Jacksonville community and those jobs are more likely to be created if the Industrial Development Revenue Bonds Program is not abolished. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City of Jacksonville pledges its full support and hereby urges the Arkansas Congressional delegation to do all things within their power to see that the Industrial Development Revenue Bonds are not abolished. SECTION 2. The City of Jacksonville pledges its full support and hereby urges the Arkansas Congressional delegation to do all things within their power to at least maintain the Industrial Development Revenue Bonds program at its present level. SECTION 3. The City of Jacksonville hereby authorizes the Mayor to convey this resolution to the Honorable Dale Bumpers, U. S. Senator, the Honorable David Pryor, U. S. Senator, the Honorable Ed Bethune, U. S. Representative, the Honorable Beryl Anthony, U. S. Representative, the Honorable John Paul Hammerschmidt, U. S.
