RESOLUTION NO. /
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
TO PROCEED WITH PLANS FOR THE COMPLETION OF PAUL EXCELL PARK,
IMPROVEMENTS FOR DUPREE PARK, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF STONEWALL
PARK, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES,
WHEREAS, there is a distinct need to further develop and
enhance certain park areas in the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas;
WHEREAS, the City Parks and Recreation Commission has
prepared suitable plans for such development to be submitted
to the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation for fifty (50) per cent
federal matching funds;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, has approved its own fifty (50) per cent contribution
to such development projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. The City Parks and Recreation Commission is
hereby authorized and directed to proceed with development
plans for completion of Paul Excell Park, improvements for
Dupree Park, and development of Stonewall Park, all in the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, in cooperation with the Bureau
of Outdoor Recreation.
Section 2. This resolution being necessary for the
preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, an
emergency is declared to exist and this resolution shall be
1 in full force and effect immediately after its passage.
