1811ORDINANCE NO. 1811 (#06 - 2026)
AN ORDINANCE TO FIX THE SALARY OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated § 14-43-409 authorizes the city council to
designate by ordinance the salary of municipal officers; and
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated § 14-42-113 provides that the salary of an elected
municipal official may be increased during the term of office; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to establish the compensation of its
members in order to provide clarity, consistency, and transparency regarding municipal
expenditures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated §§ 14-43-409 and 14-42-113,
the annual compensation of each duly elected City Council Member of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, is hereby fixed at Eight -Thousand Five -Hundred Ninety -Three Dollars and Seventy -
Four Cents ($8593.74).
SECTION TWO: Compensation shall be paid in equal installments in accordance with
the City's regular payroll practices and shall be subject to all applicable withholdings and
deductions required by law.
SECTION THREE: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION FOUR: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION FIVE: If any provision of this Ordinance is held invalid, such invalidity
shall not affect other provisions which can be given effect without the invalid provision.
