0148 RESOLUTION NO. 148 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES: NHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville desires to participate in the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the founding of our nation; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to create an ad hoc emission for this particular occasion and purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that: Section 1. There is hereby created and established the Jacksonville Bicentennial Commission, the purpose of which is to plan, co- ordinate, prepare for and conduct a city -wide observance of the 200th Anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. Section 2. The following .named persons have agreed to and hereby are appointed to serve as members of the Commission: William P. Dougherty James Canfield Mrs. Robert A. Smith Ted Freeman Senator Max Howell Mrs. Pat Bond Mrs. Joy Tanner Ben E. Rice Mrs. Joan Zumwalt Col. Paul Kozelka E. L. Throckmorton Dick Huck Rev. Gene Lindsey Tottmy Dupree Corbin L. Cross Lesly Mattingly Jim Henson Frank Neeley Rev. Mason Bondurant Mrs. Sally Branscum Section 3. Said Commission shall have an executive committee consisting of: James Canfield, Chairman, Ted Freeman, Mrs. Pat Bond, Ben E. Rice, Col. Paul Kozelka and Dick Huck.
