MINUTES: BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT REGULAR MEETING
DATE AND TIME: September 9, 2024 6:00 p.m. – 6:05 p.m.
ATTENDANCE: Commissioners: Dietz, Ruple, Twitty and Chairman Oakley were present.

City Clerk Susan Davitt recorded those listed above in attendance and Chairman Oakley declared a quorum.
APPROVAL AND/OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES: Council Member Dietz moved, seconded by Commissioner Twitty to approve the special meeting minutes of August 26, 2024. MOTION CARRIED.
VARIANCE(S): a. Distance Between Buildings Variance 1604 McArthur Drive
The public hearing opened at approximately 6:01 p.m.
Representative Don Broussard confirmed this is for a site built carport.
Council Member Dietz shared that he visited the property and believes it would be a fine fit.
The public hearing closed at approximately 6:02 p.m.
Council Member Dietz moved, seconded by Commissioner Ruple to approve a 5’3” distance between buildings at 1604 McArthur Drive. MOTION CARRIED.
b. Front Yard Setback Variance 115 Roosevelt Road
The public hearing opened at approximately 6:03 p.m.
Representative Nick Tucker with Tucker Land Surveying stated this is for a new construction home in the Sunnyside Hills Addition, similar to last month’s requests. He explained during
the survey they found an active sewer line running across the northern 1/3rd of the lot, so they are wanting to move the house a bit closer to the roadway. He noted the setback would
be 15.35’ for the front porch.
The public hearing closed at approximately 6:04 p.m.
Council Member Dietz moved, seconded by Commissioner Ruple to approve a front yard setback of 15.35’ at 115 Roosevelt Road. MOTION CARRIED.
c. Maximum Square Footage Sign Variance 3501 John Harden Drive
The public hearing opened at approximately 6:05 p.m.
Representative Keri Steuart with Condray Signs stated she is representing City Hope Church and Hydco Construction. She noted they are asking for an increase in the total square footage
of a wall sign. She explained that 200 square feet on the new building would be very small. She confirmed the pictures provided are to scale.
The public hearing closed at approximately 6:05 p.m.
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT REGULAR MEETING

Commissioner Ruple moved, seconded by Commissioner Twitty to approve a maximum square footage sign variance for a 442.57 square foot sign at 3501 John Harden Drive. MOTION CARRIED.
ADJOURNMENT: Without objection, Chairman Oakley adjourned the meeting at approximately 6:05 p.m. MOTION CARRIED.
