1754ORDINANCE NO. 1754 (#07 - 2024)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING JMC §§ 18.48.030 AND 18.52.030, ALLOWING THE
CONDITIONAL USE OF LONG TERM STAY AT HOTELS AND MOTELS FOR AREAS
ZONED C-3 AND C-4; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, that it is necessary to update restrictions of long term rentals at hotels and motels with the
City of Jacksonville. After due consideration and review, the following amendment is deemed
reasonable and shall be imposed for the protection and welfare of the citizens of Jacksonville,
Arkansas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: JMC § 18.48.030 - Conditional Uses, shall be amended as following:
Conditional uses in the C-3 district are:
Any use permitted in R-0, R-1, R -IA, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-5, C-1 and C-2;
Carnivals, circuses etc.;
Taverns;
Animal hospitals (without outside run);
Day care facility;
Motor vehicle storage and/or towing establishment(s);
Crematorium;
Long-term stay hotel.
SECTION TWO: JMC § 18.52.030 - Conditional Uses, shall be amended as following:
Conditional uses in the C-4 district are:
Any use permitted in R-0, R-1, R -IA, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-5, C-1, C-2 and C-3;
Taverns;
Day care facility;
Motor vehicle salvage establishment(s);
Crematorium;
Long-term stay hotel.
SECTION THREE: All Ordinances, parts of Ordinances, or previous actions taken by said
Council in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION FOUR: It is hereby ascertained and declared that efficient provisions of the
Zoning and Classifications of the City are needed, and passage of this Ordinance will ensure said
provisions. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared, and this Ordinance, necessary for the
continued efficient delivery of public services and for the benefit, health, safety, and welfare of the
citizens of Jacksonville, shall take effect and be in full force from the date of passage.
