W EREAS, Dupree Park, located within the jurisdiction of the City of Jacksonville,
has suffere substantial damages as a result of the tornado that occurred on March 31, 2023;
and
w LKLAN, repairs to Dupree Park are necessary to restore it to a safe and
functional condition for the benefit and enjoyment of the community; and
WHEREAS, the repairs required for Dupree Park are urgent and time -sensitive due
to the impac t on public safety and the need to resume regular park operations promptly; and
WHEREAS, the City has insurance coverage that will cover the costs associated
with the repairs to Dupree Park; and
WH REAS, The City will submit the necessary documentation and claims to the
insurance company to ensure reimbursement for the costs associated with the repairs.
WHEREAS, the City, in its best efforts to secure the lowest possible price, has
obtained quotes, the lowest of which is presented herein; and
WH REAS, the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department asks City Council to
waive comptitive bidding and request they be allowed to contract with United Fence &
Constructio Co., Inc.
NO , THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL PF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
