A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING JULY 31 - AUGUST 5, 1967, AS BOYS' CLUB
WEEK IN THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, The Boys' Clubs of America organization has granted
a local charter to the Jacksonville Boys' Club;
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Boys' Club would be a most worth-
while addition to the City of Jacksonville and would promote juvenile
decency instead of juvenile delinquency;
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Boys' Club is conducting a fund
raising drive for the purpose of constructing and operating a
Boys' Club, said fund raising drive to be featured by a week of
activities from July 31 to August 5, 1967;
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville City Council approves wholeheartedly
the establishment of the Jacksonville Boys' Club;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
1. That the week starting July 31 and ending August 5, 1967,
is hereby declared and proclaimed to be and shall be known as
Boys' Club Week.
2. For the reason that the City of Jacksonville needs im-
mediately the use of the Jacksonville Boys' Club for the preserva-
tion of the public health, safety and welfare of its citizens, an
emergency is declared to exist and this Resolution shall have full
force and effect immediately after its passage.
