MINUTES: BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT REGULAR MEETING
DATE AND TIME: August 20, 2020 6:30 p.m. – 6:37 p.m.
ATTENDANCE: Commissioners: Ruple, Montgomery, and Acting Chairman Stroud were present.

City Clerk Susan Davitt recorded those listed above in attendance and Chairman Brown declared a quorum.
APPROVAL AND/OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
Commissioner Ruple moved, seconded by Commissioner Montgomery to approve the regularly scheduled meeting minutes of July 16, 2020. MOTION CARRIED.
VARIANCE(S): 404 Cypress Court Accessory Building Square Footage Variance
Acting Chairman Stroud opened the public hearing at approximately 6:31 p.m.
Petitioners and owners Wayne and Marcia Taylor identified themselves as present via Zoom. Mr. Taylor explained that they were proposing to build a 28’ X 30’ accessory building that is
780 square feet.
Public Works Director Jim Oakley noted that the maximum square footage allowable by Code regarding residential is 650 square feet. He then pointed out that the lot is extremely large
and the request is only slightly over 650 square feet. He added that the City does not have any issues with the request.
Mr. Traylor then reassured the Board that the building would be one-story and that the building would match the main residence and be constructed out of the same material.
Commissioner Ruple moved, seconded by Commissioner Montgomery to approve the square footage variance regarding an accessory building at 404 Cypress Court as requested. MOTION CARRIED.
Vice Chairman Stroud closed the public hearing at approximately 6:37 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT:
Without objection, Vice Chairman Stroud adjourned the meeting at approximately 6:37 p.m. MOTION CARRIED.
