APPROVAL AND/OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
Alderman Howard moved, seconded by Commissioner Brannen to approve the
minutes of the regularly scheduled Board of Adjustment meeting of January
13, 2014 as presented. MOTION CARRIED.
VARIANCE(S): LED Sign Variance/209 South Redmond Road
Chairman Moore opened the public hearing at approximately 6:31 p.m.
Mr. Preston Robinson stated that he would like to replace an existing
structural sign at 209 South Redmond Road with a new LED sign of the same
size. He added that he would like to replace either one face or both sides
with an LED message board sign.
City Engineer Whisker stated that the request meets most of the signage
Codes, noting that the only concern for the Board would be if Mr. Robinson
is planning to do off-premise advertising.
Mr. Robinson explained that he has other commercial property that he would
like to be able to advertise using this sign. He noted that he did
off-premise advertising with a previous LED sign at the QuickSilver Plaza
that was approved by the Board of Adjustment. He related that he may want
to advertise his Redmond Road Storage business on this signage.
City Engineer Whisker stated that the signage would be no wider than the
existing poles of 8’ and no taller than the existing signage at 6’.
Chairman Moore closed the public hearing at approximately 6:33 p.m.
Alderman Howard moved, seconded by Commissioner Brannen to approve the LED
signage as requested for 209 South Redmond Road. MOTION CARRIED.
ADJOURNMENT:
Without objection, Chairman Moore adjourned the meeting at approximately
6:34 p.m. MOTION CARRIED.
Respectfully,
