MINUTES: BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT REGULAR MEETING
DATE AND TIME: November 12, 2007 6:35 p.m. – 6:37 p.m.
ATTENDANCE: Commissioners: Mark Perry, Bart Gray, Jr., Glen Keaton, Tom Evans, Chairman Brannen, and Acting City Engineer Whisker were present

City Clerk Susan Davitt recorded those listed above in attendance and Chairman Brannen declared a quorum.
APPROVAL AND/OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES: Commissioner Perry moved, seconded by Commissioner Evans to approve the minutes of the regularly scheduled Board of Adjustment meeting of October
8, 2007 as presented. MOTION CARRIED.
VARIANCE(S): Sign Variance at 4201 West Main Street
Chairman Brannen opened the public hearing at approximately 6:35 p.m.
Mr. Marshall Smith, Deacon and Choir Director for Cross Roads Free Will Baptist Church, related that the new site for the Church is at 4201 West Main Street. He explained that the property
is presently zone R-0 and the maximum permitted sign size for that zone is 32 square feet. He related that the Church is proposing a two-sided sign facing east and west to the west
side of the entrance with ground lights to light the sign, adding that it would not be larger than comparable signage for other churches.
In response to a question posed by Commissioner Evans, Mr. Smith answered that there would low-growing landscape around the signage.
Letter is request is noted to request signage no larger than 60 square feet including 18” columns.
Chairman Brannen closed the public hearing at approximately 6:36 p.m.
Commissioner Evans moved, seconded by Commissioner Keaton to grant a sign variance regarding the allowable size of signage for Cross Roads Free Will Baptist Church at 4201 West Main
Street. MOTION CARRIED.
ADJOURNMENT:
Without objection, Chairman Brannen adjourned the meeting at approximately 6:37 p.m. MOTION CARRIED.
