He continued explaining that the City of Jacksonville has a shared response with the Air Force Base, where they provide basic life support with EMT’s, and the City of Jacksonville provides advanced life support within 8 minutes. He stated that this change means that if Little Rock Air Force Base could not EMT standards then the City of Jacksonville could no longer have a mutual aid agreement. He stated that he has been working with the Air Force Base for the last 10 months regarding this matter, adding that Colonel Rhatigan agreed that he would revitalize the EMT program for the Base Fire Department. He commended Mayor Fletcher Colonel Rhatigan and many others who were instrumental for the last 10 months revitalizing the program.
