WHEREAS, Leo Griffin and Kay S. Griffin, his wife; P W Dupree and Leonora Dupree,
his wife; and C. S. Dupree and Grace Dupree, his wife, have filed a Petition re-
questing the City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, to abandon and
vacs.te as a street the following described real property, towit:
Beginning at a point on the East right- of-way of James Street, as dedi-
cated, said point being 30.0 feet South 87 degrees 40 minutes East of
the Northeast corner of Block 7, Crestview Addition to the City of Jack-
sonville, Arkansas, and 58.7 feet South 02 degrees 11 minutes 'nest of
the Southwest corner or the SW of sal of Section 19, Township 3 North,
Range 10 West, Pulaski County, Arkansas; thence South 02 degrees 11
minutes 'nest along the East right -of -way line of James Street, as dedi-
cated, forlQ4.75 feet; thence South 38 degrees 5 d<inutes West for 0.5
feet; thence along the arc of s. curve to the left, having a radius of
150.0 feet, for a distance of 9 feet to a point on the West right -
of-way line of James Street, as dedicated, said point being 254.8 feet
from and South Ce degrees 11 minutes West of the Northeast corner of
Block 7, Crestview Addition to the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,
thence North 02 degrees 11 minutes East along the West right - of-way
line of James Street, as dedicated, for 254.8 feet to the northeast
corner of said Block 7, Crestview Addition; thence South 87 degrees
40 minutes East for 30.0 feet to the point of beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the llth day of April, 1957, is fixed as the
day for the hearing of said Petition and the City Clerk shall give notice of the
meeting of the City Council of the City of Jacksonville to be held on said date, once
a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in Pulaski County and
having a general circulation in the City of Jacksonville. Said Notice Shall:
(a) Name the persons who have signed the Petition.
(b) Specifically describe that portion of James Street to be vacated.
(c) Further identify that portion of James. Street to be vacated by the abutting
block number and unplatted acreage.
(d) Advise all persons that on the llth day of April, 1957, the City Council of
Jacksonville will hear and determine whether that portion of Janos Street
described in said Petition shall be vacated and abandoned.
