A RESO - UTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS
TO COOPERATE JOINTLY WITH PULASKI COUNTY, THE CITY OF NORTH LITTLE ROCK,
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND OTTTT PUBLIC BODIES OPERSTING IN PULASKI
COUNTY, ARKANSAS, IN THE FLANIIIND OF THE YETEOPOLITAN AREA COMPETSIDG
THE COUNTY AND THE COOPERATING CITIES,
lh'HEREAS,
The General Assembly of the State of Arkansas has enacted a law enabling political sub-
divisions to cooperate joitnly in area planning; and
':4ITEDEAS,
The City of Jacksonville recognizes the need for joint cooperation in area planning as

provided in this law; and
WEEREAS,
The people of the City of Jacksonville will benefit through the planned develonement, as
■ a whole, of the metropolitan area of which the City of Jacksonville is a part, and,
U;11EREAS ,
A program of metropolitan area planning under joint cooperation can eliminate planning
duplic- •tion, promote economy an,'. efficiency in the coordinated develrpement of the area;
and promote the general welfare and prosperity of all the people;
NOW T- EREPOP.T,
BE IT -T SOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP T ^E CITY T JACYSONVILLE, ARKANEAS, That the City
of Jacksonville cooperate jointly with Pulaski County, the City of North Little -Kock,
the City of Little Rock, and other public bodies in Pulaski County, Arkansas, in ::he
planning of the metropolitan area comprising the County and the cooperating cities;
AND PE IT FURTHER RESO *, ;TEB, that the City of Jacksonville, under provisions of Act
26 of the 1955 Assembly of the State of Arkansas, authorizing such joint cooperation in
area planning, join with Pulaski County, North Little Rock, and Little Rock and other
public bodies in Pulaski. County to establish and maintain a Metropolitan Area Planning
Commission,
AND BE IT _FURTHER RESOLVER, that the City of Jacksonville enter into an Agreement
with Pulaski County, the City of North Little Rock and the City sf Little Rook for joint

cooperation in area .planning and the establishment of a Metropolitan Area Planning
•
•
Commission, as provided in Act 26 of 1955 Assembly of the State of Arkansas.
