A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE TO RATIFY AND
CONFIRM THE LAND LEASE OPTION TO PURCHASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE AND SIG SAUER, INC., AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ADDITIONAL LAND LEASE
AND OPTION TO PURCHASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE AND SIG SAUER, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville entered into a certain land lease and Option to
Purchase Agreement with Sig Sauer, Inc., a Delaware corporation dated December 5, 2016
regarding Tract A and Tract B containing 15.78 acres and 20.8 acres respectively located off Swift
Drive and Commerce Drive; and
WHEREAS, Sig Sauer, Inc. has successfully operated and expanded its business of
manufacturing ammunition and arms development for commercial and military use, now
employing approximately 200 local persons; and
WHEREAS, Sig Sauer, Inc. plans ftxrther expansion and additional local employment
opportunities, and is need of further building space, shown as Tract C upon the attached plat of
Bond Engineers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The land lease and option to Purchase Agreement between the City of
Jacksonville and Sig Sauer, Inc. dated December 5, 2016 and be the same is ratified and
confirmed.
Section 2. The land lease and option to Purchase Agreement between the City of
Jacksonville and Sig Sauer, Inc. dated July 27, 2020 regarding Tract C containing approximately
15.98 acres be and the same is authorized and approved upon signature of the Mayor and
attestation of the City Clerk.
