1350 000028 ORDINANCE NO, 1350 ( #17 - 2008) AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF SPECIFIED CITY DEPARTMENTS' RECORDS; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, various Departments of the City of Jacksonville have requested that old paperwork and records as specifically identified on the attached list are no longer in need and should be destroyed. Said paperwork and duplicate records range from One (1) to over Thirty -five (35) years old, and State statute (ACA §14 -59 -114) allows destruction of original records after Three (3) or Seven (7) years. Continued maintenance of said records and Department duplicates no longer serves the public good. WHEREAS, Susan Davitt, City Clerk, is the Keeper of Records for all City Departments and has executed the appropriate Affidavit for destruction of said records. NOW, THEREFORE, BEITOROAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION ONE: The City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, as Keeper of the Records, is hereby authorized to destroy by appropriate means those out of date and duplicate City records and files as specified on the attached list. SECTION TWO: All Ordinances, Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and publication, as provided by and subject to the requirements of applicable law.
