AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING WATER RATES FOR FURLOW WATER
USERS ASSOCIATION, AMENDING SECTION 13.16t 010 OF THE JACKSON-
VILLE MUNICIPAL CODE AND ORDINANCES 378, 350 AND 268, DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Furlow Water Users Association has agreed to pay to
the City of Jacksonville a connection fee of $ 20, 000.00 in order to help the
City convert all existing city customers who are now receiving untreated
water to receive treated water; and
WHEREAS, the City acknowledges that mutual benefits will accrue to
the City and Furlow Water Users Association if both entities use the same
water supply source rather than deseloping separate sources; and
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Water Commission recommends adoption
of the following water rate for Furlow Water Users Association because of
the foregoing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. The last paragraph of Section 13. 16.010 of the Jacksonville
Municipal Code as set forth in Ordinances 378, 350 and 268 is amended to
read as follows:
"Outside City Limits. Rates customers located ty
mt ates for c stom rs locate outside
the City Limits shall be increased fifty percent over rates
applying to customers located inside the City Limits, except
that rates for the Furlow Water Users Association and for any
such outside the city limits customer receiving untreated water
shall be increased twenty-fire percent instead of fifty percent. "
Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
the public health, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this ordinance shall become effective immediately.
