ORDINANCE NO. ./17
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.24.100B OF THE JACKSON-
VILLE MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO MINIMUM WATER RUNOFF;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, existing law does not adequately provide for minimum
water runoff requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. Section 5.5 of Ordinance No. 154 and Section 17.24.100B
of the Jacksonville Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"17.24.10OB. Minimum Runoff. Minimum runoff shall be determined
by the Rational Method or an equivalent engineering formula approved by
the city engineer. The coefficient shall be a minimum of .6 or higher,
and minimum rainfall rate of four (4) inches per hour. The city engineer
may increase these requirements where lives or property shall be
jeopardized by the minimum standards mentioned above."
Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
the public health, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall become effective immediately.
