0377 4 . ORDINANCE NO. 371 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 234 TO CHANGE RATES BEING CHARGED BY ARKANSAS CABLE TELEVISION, INC. , DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES, WHEREAS, a public hearing has been conducted on a request by Arkansas Cable Television, Inc. to change rates being charged by it to customers in the Jacksonville franchise area; and WHEREAS, Arkansas Cable Television, Inc. has submitted evidence of increased cost and justification of its request for increased rates; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that: Section 1. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 234 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 4. The maximum rates and charges which may be made by Grantee for connections and service rendered by it to the inhabitants of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, shall be as follows: I. Residential, including multiple -type Dwelling units (i.e. duplex, apartments, etc.) A. Individual Billing Monthly Service First Outlet 6.95 Each additional outlet 1 50 Other Service Charges Installation charge on first outlet 19.95 Relocate outlet - same premises 10.00 Installation charge each additional outlet 10.00 Transfer of service to new residence 10.00 Reconnect existing outlet 10.00 B. Bulk Billed Accounts (Apartments, Trailer Parks) Monthly Service First outlet /first unit .... 6.95 Each additional outlet /first unit 1.50 First outlet /each additional unit 4.25 Additional outlets /each additional unit . 1.50 b eA44:11' f • Page Two Other Service Charges Installation charge for first outlet /first unit ... Commercial Subscribers (motels, hotels, offices, hospitals, etc.) "Commercial Subscriber" for the purposes of this rate structure are defined as users of the service other than residential, who provide service to others, to attract customers for products or services, or who subscribe to the service with five television sets or more, or who exhibit the television program to customers or to the public, or to audiences in excess of ten persons. No rate changes shall be established or charged by the Grantee until the same shall have been approved by the Council and no proposed change of rates established by the City shall be made except after a fair public hearing before the Council. The Grantee shall collect no money from the inhabitants of the City until the Grantee's system is operable." Section 2. This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Jackson- ville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Page Three ordinance shall take full force and effect immediately upon its passage.
